Oscar Cortes injury latest as winger headlines strong Rangers B lineup

Rangers trio Oscar Cortes, Ross McCausland and Clinton Nsiala are starting for the club's B team against Crystal Palace this afternoon.

Cortes hasn't played for the first team since the beginning of January when he came on for the final 25 minutes of a 3-1 victory over St Johnstone at Ibrox in the Scottish Premiership.

The winger has been on the treatment table for a while, and interim head coach Barry Ferguson provided an update on his condition just under a fortnight ago: "Oscar Cortes trained the last couple of days," he said.

"He's another one who has been out for a long time, so I need to see how he is."

First-teamers McCausland and Nsiala also start today's game at Auchenhowie alongside Bailey Rice.

The central defender hasn't been seen since he was substituted off just half an hour into Ferguson's first game at the helm: a 4-2 victory over Kilmarnock at Rugby Park.

Similarly, winger McCausland hasn't played since that evening when he came on for the closing stages.

Both players were on the bench in Istanbul against Fenerbahce and will look to make an impression against Palace today.
