Orlando Bloom is the latest A-lister set to take on the task of reading a CBeebies Bedtime Story.
The Pirates of the Caribbean actor will appear on screens to read We Are Together, a colourful children’s book written by Britta Teckentrup, celebrating the importance of love and friendship.
Speaking about the upcoming episode, Bloom said: “Through my travels as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador I’ve met children in countries all over the world, and witnessed firsthand how storytelling between adults and young children helps cement their bond.
“Children light up when being taken on imaginary adventures through storytelling, and it helps their creativity grow. It was great to be a part of CBeebies Bedtime Stories.”
The episode is one of two stories the 41-year-old has recorded for the show.
Bloom is the latest name to be added to the list of celebrities that have appeared on the show including Ewan McGregor, Tom Hardy, Sir Elton John and Chris Evans.
Earlier this year, McGregor soothed young viewers with his reading of Everybody’s Welcome by Patricia Hegarty on Friday.
The book tells the story of a little mouse who dreams of building a house where everyone can live and work together to feel safe and warm.
McGregor said: “It’s such an honour and pleasure to join an incredible list of actors to read a CBeebies Bedtime Story to children all over the UK.
“I had a great time filming and I hope everyone enjoys watching it.”
CBeebies Bedtime Stories is on daily at 6.50pm.
