Orlando Bloom has opened up about the difficult parts of his relationship with Katy Perry, admitting they "definitely battle with our emotions".
The pair started dating in 2016 and got engaged three years later, before welcoming their daughter Daisy Dove in August 2020.
Despite saying they are "blessed" to have "connected" with one another, Orlando admitted the relationship can be "really, really, really challenging" at times.
"We're in two very different pools. Her pool is not a pool that I necessarily understand, and I think my pool is not a pool that she necessarily understands.
"Sometimes things are really, really, really, challenging. I won’t lie. We definitely battle with our emotions and creativity," he said in a new interview.
However, 46-year-old Orlando admitted there is "never a dull moment" in his relationship with Katy, 38, and said he's glad they connected in the way that they did.
"I think we’re both aware of how blessed we are to have uniquely connected in the way that we did at the time that we did, and there’s definitely never a dull moment," he told Flaunt.
Katy previously revealed that being with her "kind" fiancé helps her to overcome her depression.
"I always say when he walks into the room he has this joie de vivre to him and some people ask, 'What is this guy on?'" Katy said during an appearance on Dear Chelsea.
She added: "He's just really got this happy, posi vibes and I'm a little bit more heady and prone to depression in some ways - and so it's good for me to be around him because he gets me out of my head a little bit."
Katy was married to comedian Russell Brand from 2010 until 2012, while Orlando was married to Miranda Kerr from 2010 to 2013 and the former couple share 12-year-old son Flynn.
Miranda recently shared her joy at co-parenting with Katy and said the two formed a strong bond after attending family events together.
"We really do always think of what is the best thing for Flynn, and I just think that's the most important thing," she said during an appearance on the Drew Barrymore Show.
Speaking on her Moments podcast, she added: "I saw how she was with Flynn, she was very playful with Flynn, she was not trying to be his mum.
"She was just being friendly and kind and that’s all you can ask for."
