Oregon Men Found Dead In Washington Forest Searching For Sasquatch

Crime Scene Do not cross

Authorities in Skamania County, Washington, reported that two Oregon men, aged 59 and 37, were discovered deceased in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest after embarking on a quest to find Sasquatch. The Skamania County Sheriff's Office indicated that the cause of death appeared to be exposure, attributing it to adverse weather conditions and the men's lack of adequate preparation.

Sasquatch, a legendary creature believed by some to inhabit the forests, particularly in the Pacific Northwest, was the focus of the ill-fated expedition. The forest where the men were found is located approximately 150 miles northeast of Portland, Oregon, in a densely wooded area.

The men were reported missing by a family member on Christmas Day, following their failure to return from an outing on Christmas Eve. A search operation spanning three days involved sixty volunteer search-and-rescue personnel, including canine units, drones, and ground teams. The Coast Guard also contributed to the search effort by utilizing infrared technology from the air.

Authorities were able to pinpoint the location of the men's vehicle near Willard, situated on the southern border of the national forest, through camera recordings. The tragic incident serves as a reminder of the importance of proper preparation and caution when venturing into remote wilderness areas, especially during adverse weather conditions.
