Optical illusion of sitting women sparks debate as legs don't 'add up'

An optical illusion has left internet users baffled as it shows six women but only five pairs of legs, and no one knows what's going on.

In the image, five women are sitting on a bench in a bar of some sort, and another woman is perched on the arm on the right-hand side.

It appears there is a set of legs missing somewhere, and a Reddit user has shared the image online to try and get answers.

Soon people were sharing their theories in droves, as some thought the girl on the left has her legs over the next girl to the right, but others thought the image "doesn't add up".

What do you think is going on? Let us know in the comments...

One person said: "The first girl is sitting over the second girl’s legs."

And another wrote: "Number one has her legs crossed, no tear in the knee.

“Number two has only one leg visible, the tear is in her knee. Those legs are blending together. (Follow that tear down, there’s a split where there’s a sock on the right and not on the left. Number two has a tear in her knee and a visible white sock).”

Then a third added: "I actually think the first girl has got legs draped over the second girl's legs."

And another added: "Numbers two and three are leaning way over.”

One Reddit user thought they had cracked it, and focussed in on the girl sitting second from the left.

They said: "Her pants are the same colour, and almost blend. You can see the difference where there is a bit of sock/skin showing above the boot."

Meanwhile, a woman left her friends in stitches after sharing a picture she took of a cave - as everyone noticed the same rude optical illusion.

Twitter user Mairead, @Midge1415, thought the cave picture had a special something, with a huge ray of light stretching in from the rocky entrance.

But looking at it a second time, Mairead noticed something rather rude, and posted the image online saying 'tell me it's not just me who see's it'.

Many of her 5,964 followers noticed the same thing, that the sunlight rather looked quite like a penis, and soon droves of people were commenting on the image as it went viral, racking up over 19,000 likes.
