Optical illusion: Here's how to see a full-color picture from the X-ray image of this woman!

This is actually an optical illusion that makes you think you're looking at a brunette woman when you're not. If you stare at the female headshot image for too long, your eye cells will fool you into seeing colours that aren't there because the image has been overlaid with a negative filter.

You should be able to see the brunette woman in colour after 15 seconds of focusing on the red dot on her nose, 15 seconds of looking at a blank background, and 15 seconds of blinking. The deception takes use of the possibility of worn-out eye cone cells, which are important for how we perceive colour.

Long-term exposure to one hue can weaken the cells in the eye, causing you to perceive colours that are at the opposite end of the spectrum from the original when you turn away. This phenomenon is referred to as a "negative after image."

Cone cells typically don't experience this in daily life because minor eye movements prevent them from becoming overstimulated. If you want to view the woman in full colour after gazing at the photograph, the trick is to blink a lot. To see a clear image, spend 30 seconds focusing on the red dot on the nose. Then, take a quick glance at a plain wall. Make sure you're looking away to a clear area and blinking frequently if you're having trouble seeing it.

This optical illusion has baffled everyone on social media platforms. The trickery is so smooth that most people do not expect what they see.

A Facebook user posted: "This is just fantastic!"

There have been millions of shares of the image on Facebook thus far.
