Billionaire talk show host Oprah Winfrey appeared shocked and speechless when a fan told her they thought $100 was unaffordable for a Christmas present.
The 68-year-old TV presenter, who is worth an estimated $2.5billion, was asked for a recommendation on what Christmas present a young buy could buy for his mother.
Her initial suggestion was a jewellery box but the fan declared it would cost too much, to which she responded that it is "like $100."
Although Oprah then offered alternative choices that focus on sentimentality and meet the smaller budget, some viewers have branded her as being 'out of touch'.
The clip showing the exchange has gone viral on TikTok with some praising the TV star for her ideas and others slamming her for thinking $100 is an easy budget.
One person who implied Oprah was out of touch, wrote: "She said "oh you poor? I got a better gift for you"."
Another agreed, as they wrote: "A billionaire doesn't understand how it is for the rest of us."
A third said: 'She was SHOOK that $100 was too expensive. "Do they even make things that cost less than $100?"
Oprah's alternative suggestions for the boy included a top ten reasons why he loves her, alongside a beautiful card. Some fans thought the gesture was a sweet idea.
One commented: "I think Oprah handled this and answered this very well."
