OPM Considers Making Weekly Accomplishments Reporting Mandatory

Office work.

Employees at the Office of Personnel Management were recently informed about a new weekly reporting requirement through an email received at around 6 p.m. The email stated that responding to the request was voluntary but strongly encouraged. The guidance mentioned that listing weekly accomplishments is currently optional for OPM employees, but there is a possibility that it may become a mandatory obligation in the future.

The communication also emphasized the importance of not including any confidential, sensitive, privileged, or investigative information in the weekly reports. This precautionary measure aims to maintain data security and protect sensitive information within the agency.

Submission of reports currently voluntary but may become mandatory.

The original email sent to federal workers specified that the deadline for submitting the weekly accomplishments is set for Monday at 11:59 p.m. ET. This deadline provides employees with a clear timeframe for completing and submitting their reports.

As OPM considers the potential transition from voluntary to mandatory reporting, employees are advised to adhere to the current guidelines and ensure that their submissions do not contain any sensitive data. The agency's decision to introduce this reporting mechanism reflects its commitment to enhancing transparency and accountability within the organization.
