Jai Opetaia has urged Conor Wallace not to "get bored" as the world-ranked light heavyweight targets a title fight in 2024.
Brisbane-based Irishman Wallace improved to 12-1 with a sixth-round stoppage of the dangerous Mose Auimatagi (16-3) at Fortitude Music Hall on Wednesday.
The former sparring partner of Conor McGregor dropped the New Zealander in the second round and landed a series of flush left-hand jabs in front of a full house on a fight night beamed into more than 200 countries on English platform DAZN.
Wallace controlled the fight but didn't have it all his own way, caught by a few nice combinations by Auimatagi.
The crowd favourite steadied and returned serve in the sixth round before the referee intervened despite Auimatagi's readiness to box on.
The 27-year-old is now ranked inside the top 12 of the IBF, WBC and WBA.
"If you thought that was good, wait until 2024," the headline act bellowed after the win.
Tasman Fighters stablemate and Ring Magazine cruiserweight world champion Jai Opetaia watched the bout from Saudi Arabia ahead of his clash with Ellis Zorro on Sunday.
"I used to headline Fortitude too; he had it full and going off," Opetaia told AAP.
"I've shared lots of good times with Conor, he's got it.
"But he can't get bored now.
"The fight is won before you step into the ring, it's all about the training and he has to keep going harder than anyone."
Tasman Fighters boss Mick Francis has plans for a St Patrick's Day headline act for Wallace on March 17, where victory could put him two wins from a world title bout.
