Train passengers are facing more disruption with three more days of strike action announced for July - which will affect golf fans heading to Wirral for the Open Championship.
The RMT union announced walkouts on 14 train operating companies on July 20, 22 and 29. The announcement continues the bitter dispute between the union and the government over pay and working conditions. In total 20,000 railway workers will walk out.
The first two strike dates are set to seriously disrupt the thousands of people heading to the Royal Liverpool Golf Club in Hoylake for the world famous Open Championship, which is taking place from July 20 to 23.

In a statement, RMT General Secretary Mick Lynch said: "This latest phase of action will show the country just how important railway staff are to the running of the rail industry.
"My team of negotiators and I are available 24/7 for talks with the train operating companies and government ministers.”
The union is pushing for better pay amid the cost of living crisis, but said the latest talks with rail operators have stalled.
