There’s been a massive blunder on Mattel’s Wicked doll packaging, and someone’s probably about to be fired. In celebration of the Wicked movie, toy company Mattel released a line of specialty dolls. On the box of each character, there’s a link to a website printed on the box, but instead of it taking customers to Universal’s Wicked movie webpage, the URL directs you to a porn website. Not exactly what you want for a product aimed at children!!
The website that’s supposed to be printed on the box is WickedMovie.com, but Mattel’s error has seen Wicked.com printed on god knows how many products. You have to be 18 years or older to get into the adult website, and its description reads: “Welcome to Wicked Pictures! Watch over 25 years of award-winning porn movies and parody porn films in 4K HD and check out videos directed by Stormy Daniels!”
Yep, customers will definitely be changed for good when heading to that website… but not in the way they’d be expecting.
Videos and photos of the toy boxes went viral on X (formerly Twitter), with one being viewed over 20.4 million times. After Mattel caught wind of the controversy, the dolls were swiftly removed from shelves at Target, one of Universal’s main retail partners.

“Mattel was made aware of a misprint on the packaging of the Mattel Wicked collection dolls, primarily sold in the US, which intended to direct consumers to the official WickedMovie.com landing page,” a Mattel spokesperson told Variety.
“We deeply regret this unfortunate error and are taking immediate action to remedy this. Parents are advised that the misprinted, incorrect website is not appropriate for children. Consumers who already have the product are advised to discard the product packaging or obscure the link and may contact Mattel Customer Service for further information.”
