Oodie launches Black Friday sale with the iconic hooded blankets less than £50

As we get deeper into autumn and temperatures drop, everyone is looking for a way to stay warm without having to turn on the heating more than absolutely necessary.

Premium hooded blanket brand Oodie is top of many wish lists for people to help stay warm, but with standard prices normally around £89 it's usually a big investment. But the Australian brand has launched a wide-ranging Black Friday sale slashing prices on many of its lines, meaning you can pick up an adult Oodie for almost half the price you normally would.

The biggest savings are if you want to buy more than one of the cosy wearables, but there are plenty of individual offers reduced by £35, for example this Harry Potter themed Gryffindor Oodie reduced to £64.

Google Trends shows that searches for hooded blankets has increased by a quarter since this time last year, as people try to come up with ways to stay warm and avoid turning on their heating in the face of lowering temperatures and increased energy costs.

But as the premium brand with a cult following that for many shoppers is synonymous with hooded blankets, search for Oodie has skyrocketed even more - it's more than double what it was this time last November.

The Australian brand is by far the most popular of the hooded blanket brands, with followings on TikTok and Instagram showcasing the cosy wearable blankets, and many devotees saying they’ve not used their heating since buying one.

The appeal of the Oodie is two-fold, firstly it's oversized, warm and convenient whether you're working from home or snuggling on the sofa to binge watch your latest TV obsession. But secondly it comes in a range of quirky prints and colours that add a splash of brightness to the grim wintry weather.

Shoppers keen to use the Black Friday deals to join the trend can make the biggest savings by teaming up with friends and family - either clubbing together to buy a pack of two or four, working out less than £50 each, or if you get six for £252 that works out at just £42 each.

Suddenly it feels like a great deal to get everyone you know Oodies for Christmas and with many different prints available everyone can express their own style - whether that's bright colours, a classic blue or grey you could get away with on work Zoom calls, a quirky avocado print or even, if you want to pay homage to Peter Kay's new tour, garlic breads.

Oodie is not the only brand that has slashed prices on hooded blankets for Black Friday already. Competitor Kuddly has cut 30% off all its prices site wide, with an additional 15% discount if you use the code FRIDAY15. Meanwhile, Wowcher is offering matching family styles from just £9.99.
