A teacher who was forced to resign after it was revealed she was sharing racy photos of herself on OnlyFans is fuming after allegedly being banned from the school staff Christmas party. Physics teacher Kirsty Buchan was hoping the festive get-together would be a chance to say a proper goodbye to her colleagues in the science department at Bannerman High in Baillieston, Glasgow, but she has reportedly been warned to stay away.
Kirsty hit the headlines earlier this month after it was revealed she had to resign from her teaching role because word got out about her sharing nude photos of herself on OnlyFans, a subscription platform that allows creators to share content, the Daily Record reports. Parents had complained, so Glasgow City Council started disciplinary procedures - but Kirsty decided to leave of her own accord.
The teacher was hoping the office get-together at a restaurant in Glasgow would be her chance to say farewell to her school colleagues, but she claims she received a voicemail from her head of department telling her to stay away from the bash on Thursday. Defiant Kirsty says she is still planning to turn up, as she is technically still employed by Bannerman High until January 4.
Furious Kirsty took to social media to share her frustrations after receiving the voicemail, providing an audio recording, photographs and text messages connected to the latest fall-out - and called out her colleagues for turning their back on her. The voicemail acknowledged Kirsty had paid to attend, but said some colleagues felt "uncomfortable" with her being there, so they would refund her and asked her not to attend.
Despite her anger, Kirsty says she has every right to attend the bash and is still planning to turn up and enjoy the meal. She says anyone who is unhappy about her decision should avoid attending.
The sledgehammer voicemail received by the teacher from her former boss states: “I’m just phoning to let you know that you won’t be able to come to the science faculty night out on Thursday the 22nd of December. You no longer work with us at Bannerman and the events of the last few weeks mean that a significant number of people in the faculty feel very uncomfortable about you attending.
“I know you have paid for this but we will refund your money in full. Just to be clear - don’t come along on Thursday. Thanks.”
After taking time to digest the voicemail, Kirsty posted on Facebook the text exchanges she had with the faculty head. In one message she stated that she intended to show up, regardless of what she’s been told.
She states: “It’s not really yours or anyone’s decision to make. Do you know what, I will be going. I’m still employed until the 4th of January and I won’t be bullied or intimidated by you or anyone else talking behind my back like little children.
“If anyone has a problem then THEY shouldn’t attend. I have worked there longer than the people who are complaining. See you Thursday.”
Another post states: “When you’re asked not to attend the Christmas night out because some people are uncomfortable and it’s a 'Bannerman' night out and I no longer work there... same as another couple of people who are going.
“This is the people influencing your children... bullies and narrow minded idiots. Good riddance.”
In response, one school pupil tells the teacher: “I hope you turn up to that work night out looking better than every single person there. Just need to keep reminding yourself that you're the one that’s making a good wage while they're stuck working in that horrible place.”
Kirsty responds: “Thank you, I’ll be getting dolled up on Thursday and I’ll be sitting waiting on them all arriving xx.”
The latest twist turns after the teacher was forced to resign from her post earlier this month after word got out about nude snaps taken in her home appearing on the OnlyFans site, which allows ordinary people to show off their bodies.
Disciplinary procedures had already been instigated by Glasgow City Council after a flood of complaints but parents - but the teacher jumped before she was pushed. After the Record revealed the story of the teacher’s resignation, she claimed the school had treated her badly, refusing to pay wages while she cared for her unwell son.
Bannerman High has also taken a huge amount of flak recently for alleged high levels of violence and bullying in the school. A Glasgow City Council spokeswoman said: “This person has a sick line until 4 January and has tendered her resignation.”
