A mum who started an OnlyFans to boost her income believes her neighbours are trying to shut her down in case their husbands view her content.
Laura Whyte, 29, said she has gone from living off £35 each week to raking in £4,000 a month. She joined the adult site in September of last year, and quickly gained a following.
But the mum-of-two claims her newfound career has also seen her receive negative attention from residents in her village.

She claims she has been sent anonymous messages, including some threatening to call the police. Laura, who lives in the small village of Aberchirder in the north of Scotland, said others have threatened to call social services unless she takes down her content.
Laura said: “My partner would ask, ‘Why are you getting so upset’. But it’s intimidating, it just makes you get worried to go outside. A lot [of the messages] are women saying they don’t want their husbands finding my page."
Laura says she started receiving messages in March 2022, around six months after she launched the account. She realised the messages started around the same time as people that she knew had viewed her Instagram story, where she had advertised her OnlyFans.
She says one anonymous message told her she had 24 hours to take her posts down – or they would call the police due to it being "pornography". Others appeared to come from other women in the village telling her that if their partners found her account, there would be "problems", she claims.
Laura said she gets reported so much it’s hard to keep her accounts active. But despite this, she said her OnlyFans career has made her feel more confident and less depressed.
With over a thousand subscribers, she says she makes between £3,500 and £4,000 per month. Laura said it was "fine" for the first few months, as her neighbours were unaware of her new career.
She added: “When [locals] started to view my Instagram account, I started getting messages from fake accounts saying they were going to report me to the police, HMRC, and social services. One said they were going to be contacting social services to make sure it’s acceptable to be doing ‘that kind of job’ while having children.
“I’ve not a clue who’s sending them. I’ve been living in the village for eight years and now it feels like everyone hates me. I recently had a message on Twitter saying they were seeing me walking around the village and could see what clothes I wear.
"I wear baggy clothes, I’m not showing off or anything to get the hate I get."
However, defiant Laura says she won't let the messages stop her, as the money has allowed her to live the life she's always wanted. She added: “I’ll never take the messages in a literal sense, it’s probably to try and put me off. I just ignore them, I don’t even let them know I’ve read it.
“I’ve saved up to get breast enlargements which has made me feel more comfortable in my body and we’ve been able to do things we would have never been able to do before. I put the money in savings so it’s not just being spent on rubbish.
"Before, I was only getting child benefit of £35 week and was trying do better for my family to put a deposit down on a house. Now, we’re looking to buy a house in the next year or so.”
