Only Murders in the Building season 2: Selena Gomez announces release date of hit comedy show

Selena Gomez has just announced some pretty major news over on her Instagram page, and fans are going wild.

If you watched Only Murders in the Building - shorted to OMITB - you'll know exactly why people are going crazy over the latest announcement.

Taking to Instagram to announce the good news, the singer, songwriter and actress said: "Season 2 of @OnlyMurdersHulu is coming June 28!!"

If you haven't seen the show, the idea behind the genius series follows three true crime obsessed strangers who all live in the Arconia who become friends through their love of a podcast all about...yep you guessed it, true crime.

The show's description reads that the three strangers suddenly find themselves wrapped up in a true crime mystery "when a grisly death occurs inside their exclusive Upper West Side apartment building, the trio suspects murder and employs their precise knowledge of true crime to investigate the truth.

"Perhaps even more explosive are the lies they tell one another. Soon, the endangered trio comes to realize a killer might be living among them as they race to decipher the mounting clues before it's too late."

The popular Hulu comedy series became a huge success becoming the streamer's most-watched original comedy on its premiere day.

Season one is currently being shown on Disney Plus for UK fans which is where season two will also be shown.

The cast boasts some pretty big names such as Selena Gomez who plays Mabel Mora, Steve Martin who plays Charles-Haden Savage, Martin Short who plays Oliver Putnam and Aaron Dominguez who portrays Oscar.

Selena Gomez has fans across the world - many of whom know her for her acting and singing - however she has also recently released a make up line called Rare Beauty which is finally available to buy in Space NK stores here across the UK - one of which is in Glasgow's Princes Square Shopping Centre.

Fans were quick to jump on the news and show their excitement.

Taking to social media one said - or yelled: "THE BEST SHOW IS BACK."

Another added: "Hell yea! Can’t wait!"

A third joked: "Mabel, you have to keep those two in check!"
