Sportsbooks won big Monday when Dallas Cowboys kicker Brett Maher missed four extra-point attempts against the Buccaneers, crushing people who bet the over on the game’s total and Maher’s player props.
Now, those sportsbooks are leaving the market while they’re ahead.
While the Cowboys are sticking with Maher for Sunday’s game against the San Francisco 49ers — even with their special teams coach saying he has the yips — you’ll be hard-pressed to find an online sportsbook that wants to take action on his props.
As of Friday afternoon, none of BetMGM, Caesars or FanDuel have props for Maher despite offering some for the opposing kicker, Robbie Gould.

Other sportsbooks I checked weren’t offering props for either kicker.
It’s a little cowardly on their part, but I get it. I’d be hammering the under until he proves he’s over whatever was in his head, and I’m guessing other bettors would too.
Also, aside from the potential for Maher’s yips to continue, there’s also a chance he gets pulled from the game completely if he struggles in practice to close the week. Dallas signed kicker Tristan Vizcaino to its practice squad for added insurance.
