OnePlus has confirmed that the first flagship smartphone arrival of 2023 will be the OnePlus 11 5G.
The global launch event is called Cloud 11 and takes place in New Delhi, India, on February 7.
But ahead of that, the company has just launched the smartphone in China along with OnePlus Buds Pro 2. Both products go on sale in China on January 9.
There’s no word yet as to when exactly the phone will go on sale in Ireland and Europe, but we do know that this will be revealed in New Delhi along with the pricing details.

OnePlus 11 5G is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, the latest high-end chip that promises not just the usual speed improvements, but upgrades to AI, camera features, 5G speeds and graphics.
You'll get up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM, along with up 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage.
The new device should have the firm’s Color 13 OS based on Android 13 right out of the box when it is released in Europe.
OnePlus 11 5G sports a 6.7in 2K resolution fluid AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and dynamic battery-saving LTPO 3.0 tech.
There are black and green colourways and the firm said that the premium texture on the new handsets was inspired by black holes.
Fan favourites
OnePlus 11 5G is fitted with two user-favourite features – the iconic Alert Slider and the sophisticated Hasselblad photography integration.
Both fan faves were missing from the company’s last device of 2022 – OnePlus 11T, which included a 150w charger instead, the fastest charging you can get on a smartphone in Ireland currently.
The company has promised that the latest iteration of the Hasselblad camera tech will usher in "a new true-to-life quality to smartphone photography."
The return of the alert slider has been universally praised. It’s one of the most unique OnePlus features, making it it easy to shift from silent to vibrate to ring.
No other Android flagship has an alert slider, but Apple’s iPhone employs a similar switch.
Cameras
OnePlus 11 5G boasts a rear triple-camera system equipped with three Sony sensors.
You get a 50MP IMX890 main wide-angle sensor, a 48MP IMX581 ultra-wide sensor and a 32MP IMX709 portrait lens for what the company said will be DSLR quality portraits.
It also features the return of Hasselblad technology and a new 13-channel multi-spectral light-colour identifying sensor..
Battery life
The company said that its combination of its 100W SUPERVOOC fast charging system and a 5000 mAh dual-cell battery will work in tandem to guarantee an extended usage time.
Unlike some other smartphone firms, OnePlus still includes a charging brick in the box.
OnePlus Buds Pro 2
The new OnePlus Buds 2 Pro true wireless earphones are a co-creation with renowned audio specialist Dynaudio.
The buds feature an 11mm driver for bass and a 6mm driver for mids and tops.
Smart Adaptive Noise Cancellation is also included along with spatial audio and 39-hour battery life.
OnePlus Buds Pro 2 also supports dual connection and Bluetooth 5.3 LE audio.

“We’re thrilled to be revealing these exciting new products that bring a levelled up fast and smooth experience to the market,” Pete Lau, OnePlus Senior Vice President and Chief of Product at OPPO and OnePlus, said.
“The OnePlus 11 5G, the OnePlus Buds Pro 2, and other products are driven by our community co-creation spirit and will be equipped with the most advanced technology to provide a refined experience to our users.”
Now that OnePlus has confirmed its launch, and with Samsung expected to announce a release date for the Galaxy S23 soon, it looks like an exciting start to 2023 for Android fans.
Xiaomi is also getting ready to launch its new Xiaomi 13 Series.
