Police have confirmed the death of a one-year-old boy in Cwmbran. A Gwent Police spokeswoman said the force received a report of a medical emergency at around 7.45am last Tuesday at an address in the suburb St Dials.
She added: "Officers attended, along with personnel from the Welsh Ambulance Service and the Welsh Air Ambulance, who confirmed that a one-year-old boy had died at the scene. We’re currently treating the death as unexplained and a post-mortem examination will be taking place."
Detective Inspector Emma Bartholomew said the family are being supported by specialist officers and have requested privacy.
