One week left to enter raffle for Dublin townhouse worth €400,000 with tickets just €23

A stunning three-bedroom Dublin townhouse worth over €400,000 is being raffled off next week by animal welfare charity My Lovely Horse Rescue.

The home is located in the Royal Canal Park in Ashtown and consists of three floors, three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The draw will take place on July 28 with tickets costing just €23.

Sales are capped at just 40,000 tickets. If less than 32,000 tickets are sold, the winner will receive a cash prize of 50% of the ticket revenue and My Lovely Horse Rescue will keep the remaining balance.

My Lovely Horse Rescue co-founder Martina Kenny told Dublin Live that regardless of whether or not they reach 32,000 ticket sales, the winner will still receive a "life changing" prize and the charity will get vital funds to help cover its bills.

She said: "It's great that a lot of the big vet bills will be paid, but right now it feels like everyone in the country is looking to us. We're overloaded- we have nearly 800 animals in our care.

"We're seeing a huge problem with dogs. Yesterday alone we took four dogs in. There's always been an issue with over breeding but the second people started going back to work a surge started.

"There's over €100,000 of bills right now and even if that gets paid from the fundraiser, with the way things are going it will pile up again soon."

Martina said that one of their volunteers who was selling his house offered it up for the raffle.

She said: "The problem was we couldn't afford to buy a house. So one of our volunteers said we could put his house up and if we sold the amount of tickets and covered the value of the house, he would let the house go and he would pay all of the legal fees.

"The person would literally get the key to the house, the deed and that's it. They would have no other fees.

"It's an amazing opportunity and if the minimum 32,000 tickets are sold, we would get a €200,000 donation. That would do so much for us right now."

If the 32,000 ticket minimum isn't reached, the volunteer will keep their house while My Lovely Horse Rescue and the raffle winner split the cash raised.

"It would be great if people bought a ticket because even if we don't sell enough for the house, there's still a great cash prize on offer," Martina said.

"The raffle will only help. That kind of funding, we haven't had that before because it's such a big fundraiser, but the issue is we have never been so big in the rescuing either."

Martina explained that while the money would help the charity greatly, they still have a long way to go

She said: "Out of that money we have to make it stretch. We'll get most of those bills sorted, some paid off. But we also desperately need a tractor coming into the winter because our little tractor won't make it through another winter.

"We also desperately need to build eight stables because we only have 15 and the amount of horses we have is crazy. We're coming into winter where there's going to be seriously sick horses who need a stable. Last winter we found ourselves swapping horses in and out based on how sick they were and that's horrible.

"We want to give them all the best care. We don't believe in having every horse stabled, we don't do that because they don't want to be. But sick horses need to be stabled, God love them.

"That's a big, big issue that I don't think people realise. We are not a rich organisation, far from it. We rely on public funding more than anything."

The charity is appealing to the public to support them by donating here or purchasing a ticket for their house raffle here.
