A UK ticket-holder has scooped the record EuroMillions jackpot of £195 million, the biggest National Lottery win of all time, Camelot said.

The winner will collect a total prize of £195,707,000.

Camelot’s Andy Carter, senior winners’ adviser at the National Lottery, said: “What an amazing night for one UK ticket-holder who has scooped the biggest-ever EuroMillions jackpot of £195 million.

“This winner has just become the biggest National Lottery winner of all time, the fourth lucky EuroMillions jackpot winner here this year and the 15th UK winner of over £100 million.

“Players are urged to check their tickets and to give us a call if they think they are tonight’s record-breaking lucky winner.”

It comes a month after one UK ticket-holder won almost £55 million with the EuroMillions jackpot.

Also in June Camelot, the outgoing UK National Lottery operator, revealed falling sales of tickets and instant win games as it flagged signs players had “tightened their belts” in the face of soaring living costs.

It said most of the drop was down to a 7% decline in sales of National Lottery Instants – down £240 million to £3.4 billion.

The group partly put the fall down to the ending of Covid restrictions, which it said meant there was “greater competition for people’s attention and spend”.

But it also revealed “growing economic uncertainty” held back instant sales as consumers came under pressure from rising cost pressures, while scratch card sales remained below pre-pandemic levels.
