One south Dublin neighbourhood revealed as most obsessed with avocados and it's no surprise

One south Dublin neighbourhood is believed to be the most obsessed with avocados.

According to Deliveroo, Templeogue in Dublin 6W is the most avocado obsessed area of Dublin.

The food delivery service revealed that on average, people from Templeogue opt for three avocados per order. That is one more avocado than anywhere else in Ireland, other than Knocknacarra in Galway.

Deliveroo decided to celebrate Cinco de Mayo, a day when Mexican's celebrate their national identity, by analysing Ireland's avocado eating habits.

After gathering the data, the company revealed that Ireland's love for avocados is growing stronger. Deliveroo witnessed a 62% increase in orders containing avocado from 2020 to 2021.

While this can be seen when customers order things like guacamole, avocado on toast, avocado salads or even avocado in smoothies, Deliveroo has also reported customers purchasing avocados when ordering their groceries directly from Deliveroo through grocery partners such as Mace and Spar.

Additionally, Deliveroo revealed that the most popular time for people to order avocados via the delivery app is at 1pm, meaning that the preferred time for eating avocados in Ireland tends to be around lunchtime.

The company also revealed which of the restaurants serving avocados available on its app are most popular among customers. Coming in at number one is burrito chain Boojum, which has been in operation in Ireland since 2007.

Following Boojum is Tolteca, which has multiple restaurants across Dublin. After Tolteca, there's Zambrero, Salsa - Authentic Mexican Food, Nutbutter, Vocho, El Grito, Bell Burritos, Burritos & Blues and Agave Mexican Food.
