One person has been taken to RVI with suspected back injuries following a collision involving two motorcycles on the A189 southbound.
Emergency services were called to the A189 southbound carriageway near the Bebside roundabout at about 6.30 on Wednesday evening to a report of a collision between two motorbikes.
There was a heavy emergency services presence with Northumbria Police, Northumberland Fire and Rescue Service, North East Ambulance Service and Air Ambulance all attending the scene.

The ambulance service dispatched one paramedic ambulance, a clinical team leader. An air ambulance doctor assessed a person with leg and suspected back injuries, before they were taken to the RVI by road for further treatment.
There was heavy traffic in the area as the northbound carriageway was temporarily closed to allow for emergency services but has since reopened. The southbound carriageway was also fully closed but police have confirmed that lane two has since reopened with traffic flowing freely.
Police officers remain at the scene while one lane remains closed on the southbound carriageway to allow for recovery.
A spokesman for Northumbria Police said: "We received a report of a collision involving a motorbike on the A189 Bebside roundabout at 6.27 this evening.
"There is a heavy emergency service presence with police, Northumberland Fire Service and Rescue, North East Ambulance Service and Air Ambulance attending.
"The Northbound carriageway was temporarily closed to allow for emergency services but has since reopened. The southbound carriageway was fully closed however one lane has reopened and traffic is now flowing freely.
"Police officers remain at the scene while one lane remains closed on the southbound carriageway to allow for recovery."
A spokesman for the North East Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 6.24 this evening to a report of an RTC involving two motorbikes.
"We dispatched one paramedic ambulance, a clinical team leader, and an air ambulance attended.
"A doctor from the air ambulance assessed one patient with leg and suspected back injuries before conveying them to the RVI by road."
