One person hospitalised after van bursts into flames

One person has been hospitalised after a van burst into flames.

The incident occurred around 8am this morning in Palmerstown.

Emergency services rushed to the scene of the fire which resulted in one individual suffering "non-life threatening" injuries.

The Facebook group, Palmerstown Neighbourhood Watch, posted the video with the caption hoping nobody was injured in the fire.

They wrote: "8am Van on fire Kennelsfort Road Upper at the footbridge. Dublin Fire Brigade on scene."

A garda spokesman said one person was taken to hospital.

He said: "Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of a collision in the Palmerstown area in the early hours of this morning.

"One person was taken to St James’ Hospital with non-life threatening injuries."
