After winning 11 games a year ago behind the arms of five different quarterbacks, there is reason for both questions and optimism surrounding the Cleveland Browns as they head back to training camp this week.
While some are down on the Browns this season, in search of their first-ever AFC North title, one publication has high hopes for Cleveland. USA Today’s Nate Davis gave his outlook for all 32 teams heading into the late parts of the summer, and he projected another trip to the playoffs for the Browns.
Placing the seventh seed in the AFC on the Browns in his projections, Davis has anticipated a 10-7 finish for head coach Kevin Stefanski and his squad. Here is what Davis had to say:
“They won 11 games and nearly the division in 2023 despite a slew of major injuries, most notably QB Deshaun Watson (shoulder) and RB Nick Chubb (ACL) missing most of the season with ailments to, respectively, the most concerning parts of their bodies from a professional standpoint.”
The main talking point surrounding this team’s future success leans heavily on the arm of Deshaun Watson. Can the Browns get him back to form? How long will star running back Nick Chubb be out for? Much of the 2024 season will be defined by this.
After revamping their entire offensive staff, however, the Browns will be looking to take another step forward.
