'One of the best in the world' - Dusan Tadic gives verdict on next Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag

Dusan Tadic has hailed Erik ten Hag as one of the best coaches in the world ahead of his impending move to Manchester United.

The 52-year-old Dutchman is set to take over the reins at Old Trafford this summer, although his focus, for now, remains firmly on Ajax's bid for a domestic double.

While Ten Hag won't talk about the links with United, Ajax forward Tadic gave him a glowing reference, detailing the tactical acumen that has been so impressive, particularly during Ajax's success in European competition.

Tadic was speaking ahead of the Dutch cup final against PSV Eindhoven this weekend and while he hopes Ten Hag might still decide to stay at Ajax, he's not surprised other clubs are interested in him.

“I hope he stays, he is a great trainer. One of the best in the world," said Tadic.

"Tactically he thinks two steps ahead of the opponent. It is a pleasure to work with him.

"It is logical that there is interest in Ajax's trainer and players. That will always be the case. That is also why we are Ajax. We also have to radiate that."

Ajax can clinch the first leg of that double against PSV in the KNVB Cup final on Sunday and they have extended their lead at the top of the Eredivisie to four points with five games to go.

Ten Hag's focus remains firmly on his current club, however, and ahead of the cup final he refused to discuss any links to United.

"Because I serve Ajax. We need to win the two remaining trophies.” he said. "I am not afraid [of discussing United]. I will repeat myself one more time. Do you have questions about the cup final? About Ajax?

"We have trained fantastically this week. The best in my time at Ajax, so the players are busy with Ajax. They are looking forward to it, there is a lot of energy. Hopefully we will see that during the final on Sunday."
