One more held in Kazhakuttam case

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM

The Kazhakuttam police on Sunday arrested one more person in connection with the alleged attempt to murder a youth recently by hurling country bombs.

The police identified the accused as Vijeesh, 35, of Kizhakkumbhagam in Kazhakuttam. Four persons, including history-sheeter Leon Johnson, had been arrested earlier for the attack on Menamkulam native Rajan Pereira on Thursday.

The investigation team nabbed him from Sivapuram, near Kazhakuttam. Vijeesh, who figures on the rowdy list maintained by the Kazhakuttam police, has been involved in nearly 10 criminal cases registered in Kazhakuttam, Mangalapuram and Kadakkavoor police stations, including those relating to assault, burglary, theft and narcotics trade. He has been remanded in judicial custody.
