Gardai seized a huge haul of cannabis, including herbal and cannabis sweets, worth €400,000 in total in Kildare yesterday.
One man, aged in his 40s, has been arrested in connection with the drug seizures and was detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
An initial search for drugs led by Revenue officers discovered around 17kg of herbal cannabis with an estimated street value of €340,000.

A follow-up search by Gardai at an industrial premises in Athy uncovered cannabis with an estimated value of €60,000 and 272 packets of edible 'cannabis jellies' worth €13,600.
A statement from gardai reads: "On Thursday 27th April 2023, as part of an intelligence led operation targeting persons suspected to be involved in an organised crime group operating in the Kildare area, a joint operation was conducted by Gardaí from the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB), the Kildare Divisional Drugs Unit and personnel attached to the Revenue Customs Service.
"During the course of this operation Revenue officers seized approximately 17 kilograms of herbal cannabis with an estimated value of €340,000.
"During the course of a follow up search at an industrial premises in Athy, County Kildare, members of An Garda Síochána seized cannabis with an estimated value of €60,000 in addition to cannabis in the form of 272 packets of edible jellies with an estimated value of €13,600."
The man who was arrested was charged and detained overnight at a garda station in Kildare. He appeared before Dublin District Court on Friday at 10.30am.
