One in hospital as shocking footage shows two-car smash at junction

Horrifying CCTV footage shows the moment that two cars crashed at a junction in Tameside. The driver of one of the cars was taken to hospital following the smash on Armadale Road, Dukinfield, while a man was arrested on suspicion of aggravated vehicle taking and dangerous driving.

Emergency services were scrambled to the scene of the collision, at the Boyds Walk junction, early on Tuesday morning (April 12). Photographs from the scene showed damage to a Mercedes and a Vauxhall Insignia, while car debris was also strewn across a grassed area.

Video taken from a nearby house shows the Mercedes driving up Boyds Walk but as it drives past the junction, a Vauxhall Insignia comes from Armadale Road on the left, crashing into the passenger side of the Mercedes. The force of the collision sends both cars spinning out of control, with the Mercedes being sent towards someone's home and the Vauxhall ending up on a grassy verge.
