One Direction members’ sisters call for reunion, sparking hope among fans

The sisters of two One Direction members have called for the band to reunite, igniting hope in the Directioner fandom.

Fans have longed to see Harry, Niall, Louis, Liam, and Zayn back on stage together since the band broke up in 2016, following Zayn’s exit in 2015.

In 2017, Harry Styles explained why they broke up, telling Rolling Stone: “I didn’t want to exhaust our fan base.

“If you’re shortsighted, you can think, ‘Let’s just keep touring,’ but we all thought too much of the group than to let that happen. You realise you’re exhausted and you don’t want to drain people’s belief in you.”

The boyband members have since been busy pursuing solo careers, with Styles currently touring the world and Niall Horan gearing up to release a new album in June.

Liam Payne recently revealed he’s recording a new album, while Louis Tomlinson will embark on a world tour next week.

Now, the band’s family members have sparked hope that a reunion could be on the way.

Louis Tomlinson’s sister, Lottie Tomlinson, and Liam Payne’s sister, Ruth Gibbons, both shared the same meme of a man holding a sign that reads “I want a One Direction reunion,” as did the band’s former hairstylist, Lou Teasdale.

Fans were thrilled to see the sisters talk about the band, with many hoping their posts were a sign of things to come.

Styles further stirred One Direction reunion rumours this week, when he performed the band’s song Stockholm Syndrome at his solo show in Denmark.

He also teased fans by beginning to sing Best Song Ever, before actually singing another 1D hit, What Makes You Beautiful.

Fans are further convinced that a reunion could be on the cards due to Payne revealing that the band has a new group chat.

Payne was being interviewed by Delicious TV’s Derek Chisora ringside at KSI and Joe Fournier’s fight when he dropped the bombshell.

When asked “when are we going to see the band back together?" Payne responded: "I don’t know, but we just started a new group chat, so that’s something."

Although they may be separate events, pieced together they’re enough to convince Directioners that they’re getting a One Direction tour in the near future. Watch this space.
