One person has died and three others are injured following a crash near Tipperary town.
The single-vehicle collision happened at Greenane around 12.45am this morning.
The driver, a man aged in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene and his body has been removed to the mortuary at University Hospital Limerick.
Three passengers - two women and a man, all aged in their 20s - were injured.
They were taken to University Hospital Limerick where their injuries are understood to be non-life threatening.
The road is currently closed for a technical examination by forensic collision investigators and local diversions are in place.
Gardai are appealing witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to contact them.
A spokesperson said: “Gardai in Tipperary are appealing for witnesses, following a fatal road traffic collision that occurred this morning, Saturday April 2, 2022.
“At approximately 12:45am, gardai were alerted to a single car road traffic collision that occurred at Greenane, Tipperary Town.
“A man in his 20s, the driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene. His body has since been removed to the mortuary at University Hospital Limerick.
“Two females and a male, passengers in the vehicle and all aged in their 20s, were taken to University Hospital Limerick to be treated for their injuries, which are understood to be non-life threatening.
“The road is currently closed to allow for a technical examination to take place by Forensic Collision Investigators. Local diversions are in place.
“Gardai are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to come forward. Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area at the time are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardai. “
