A boating accident has claimed one man's life and left another in hospital after their boat capsized in eastern Victoria.
Emergency services were called to Reeves Channel near Gippsland's Lakes Entrance on Monday morning after passing boats noticed the two men were in trouble.
"One of the men was pulled from the water unconscious and despite the best efforts of good Samaritans, died on the scene," Victoria Police said in a statement.
The second man was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Neither man has been formally identified and Victoria Police will provide a report for the coroner.
