One Brilliant Catch and Two Terrible Missed Tackles Lead to Michigan State TD

Michigan State wide receiver Montorie Foster made on of the most impressive one-handed receptions of the season in the final minutes of the first half of the Spartans’ clash against Indiana on Saturday.

With 1:20 to play until halftime and the game tied 7–7, Spartans quarterback Katin Houser floated a pass to Foster, who registered the acrobatic one-hand grab. After making the catch, Foster evaded two Indiana defenders before breaking loose of a tackle from Hoosiers defensive back Phillip Dunnam on his way to the end zone for a 29-yard touchdown reception.

The catch was similar in nature to those from NFL stars (and former LSU greats) like Justin Jefferson and Odell Beckham Jr. Foster’s touchdown gave Michigan State a 14–7 lead at halftime.

Foster, a Cleveland native, entered Saturday’s game leading the Spartans in receptions (34) and receiving yards (447) this season with two touchdowns while averaging 13.1 yards per catch.

The Spartans (3–7) are seeking to win their fourth game of the season against Indiana (3–7) after losing to No. 2 Ohio State, 38–3, on Nov. 11.
