Once again, change is on the air for CNN.

Facing downward spiraling ratings and sharp criticism from ex-employees, CNN is back in the laboratory concocting a new broadcast featuring some of its biggest – and newest – names in the mix.

DON’T MISS: CNN Begs For Patience

While the time slots aren’t all nailed down yet, new weekend shows are in the works for broadcast mainstays Chris Wallace and Christiane Amanpour, according to a report from Variety.

Meanwhile, new single-host shows have been green-lit by Warner Bros. Discovery's (WBD) -) CNN, with Pamela Brown, Kasie Hunt, Victor Blackwell, and Manu Raju slated for weekend broadcasts. Long-time journalist Allisyn Camerota will step down from hosting CNN’s late-night programming to be a reporter and contributor for CNN's Sunday show “The Whole Story.”

“By expanding the range and depth of our programming lineup across multiple dayparts, we are strengthening our reporting excellence throughout the schedule, elevating our ability to tell great stories across platforms, and doubling down on CNN’s position as the most trusted name in news,” the network said in a statement.”

More Companies in Trouble:

Anderson Cooper will remain at his 8 p.m. Eastern post with Erin Burnett preceding Cooper at 7 p.m. Kaitlan Collins keeps her 9 p.m. weeknight slot followed by Abby Philip at 10 p.m. and Laura Coates closing the broadcast night at 11 p.m.

In a daytime switch, Brown takes over the 3 p.m. weekday slot with Phil Mattingly acting as co-anchor. MSNBC veteran Kasie Hunt moves to the morning as host of “Early Start.”

CNN’s weekend show “Inside Politics” will be hosted by longtime reporter Raju while Blackwell snags a new solo morning show scheduled for Saturday.

The moves set CNN up for the all-important 2024 Presidential race without some familiar names in tow.

Ex-weeknight anchor Don Lemon, for example, has been highly critical of CNN’s broadcast direction.

"I don't believe in platforming liars and bigots, insurrectionists and election deniers and putting them on the same footing as people who are telling the truth; people who are fighting for what's right, people who are abiding by the Constitution," Lemon said, citing his opinion on CNN’s shifting political bent. "I think that would be a dereliction of journalistic duty to do those sorts of things."
