Hall of Fame Celtics small forward Larry Bird led all scorers with 31 points. He added 12 rebounds and 5 assists on 13-of-22 shooting, including 2-of-4 from beyond the arc, and power forward Michael Smith added 21 points and 5 boards.
Wing Reggie Lewis chipped in 16 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists to help secure the win for Boston.
