On the bubble – Moet & Chandon returns as F1 champagne provider

Moet & Chandon has become the latest LVMH brand to partner with Formula 1 as the luxury champagne makes its return to the podium this season - while also becoming title partner of the Belgian Grand Prix.

F1 and LVMH signed a 10-year global partnership last year, worth around $1billion, which has seen a number of ‘maisons’ enter the series as part of the agreement.

Last week, it was confirmed that Louis Vuitton would become the title partner of the Australian Grand Prix, at the same time providing Trophy Trunks for race trophies across the season.

That followed on from the announcement at the start of the year that TAG Heuer would replace Rolex as F1’s official timekeeper.

Now Moet & Chandon will be the official champagne of F1, used to toast podium successes in place of Ferrari Trento, which has been sprayed since 2021.

“The tradition of toasting on the podium is one of the most iconic moments in our sport and we are thrilled to welcome once again Moet & Chandon as the Official Champagne of Formula 1,” said F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali.

“This partnership celebrates the history, emotion and excellence that bind Formula 1 and Moet & Chandon, in a perfect union of performance and refinement in a truly special year that sees us celebrate our 75th anniversary.

“The return of Moet & Chandon to the podium strengthens further the bond of our innovative partnership with LVMH and we cannot wait to toast this extraordinary collaboration together.”

With nearly 300 years of experience in champagne making, Moet & Chandon also has a rich history with F1.

It was the first champagne used to toast a victory in the series, when Juan Manuel Fangio won the 1950 French Grand Prix during F1’s inaugural season and was invited to celebrate with Moet & Chandon.

“We are honoured and excited to return as the Official Champagne of Formula 1, celebrating a shared history of collective triumph and dedication since the 1950s,” said Sibylle Scherer, CEO and president of Moet & Chandon.

“We honour the extraordinary teamwork, the unlimited precision, and the pursuit of excellence that drive both motorsport and our craft.

“This partnership is a tribute to the unity and shared achievements of inspiring drivers, their devoted teams, and the global community that rallies behind them.

“As Moet & Chandon takes its place on the podium once again, we proudly continue to craft moments of celebration that belong to everyone committed to this incredible journey.”
