"OMG this fat lazy girl loves it!!!!" - Shoppers say they're losing weight and inches in days thanks to hula hoop TikTok trend

We're never too far away from the next exercise fad are we, but shoppers say they've found one that actually works.

Weighted hula hoops from the likes of K-mart have become a massive hit in recent months, with users saying they've helped them shed weight and taken inches off their waistline.

It's basically a hoop made up of 24 detachable parts, which you can add or remove to make it fit around your waist.

Each part has a soft rubber massage head, which massages your muscles as you move and is said to 'burn fat quickly' while 'eliminating fatigue'.

The K-mart hoop has thousands of five-star reviews (K-mart)

It's not hula hooping in the traditional sense and is easier to use, as this one won't fall down.

And according to the thousands of five-star reviews on Amazon, the results are pretty impressive.

Just last week, one woman posted describing it as 'a craze that actually seems to work'.

"Eating a sensible diet, which I was eating previously, after 6 days, I have lost half a stone!" she said.

"I hoop for 30 minutes a day, without a break. I can also hula hoop with a conventional hoop, but it takes up more room and is frustrating when you lose the rhythm and have to pick it up.

"With the K-mart hoop, you just start the weight swinging again and off you go. 30 minutes gone in a flash; taking inches off myself and getting fitter at the same time! Almost a week in, I'm loving it and will keep up the daily routine."

Another user posting a five-star review titled 'OMG this fat lazy girl loves it!!!!'.

"I hate exercise, everything about it," she said. "I keep seeing these all over TikTok and had previously bought a cheaper brand which fell apart so I wanted to try again but with a more reputable brand, ordered this one delivered in 2 days.

"Put on my Fitbit and my favourite TV series and hula hooped my way through it for 30 mins. Just absolutely brilliant burnt 229 cals and added 1500 steps for just 30 mins.

"I did a 5km walk last week and this gave me more cardio exercise in 30 mins than my walk did!!! Absolutely love it. Fat lazy chunky girl converted!!

"This is easy to set up and use. Great for waist bum and thighs! Don’t even think about it just order one! The blue one is nice. Ps I’m a UK 18 and still had two sections left over x. Good luck!"

Some users said it took a while to get the hang of it but they eventually got in the swing.

Others said 'you get out what you put in' suggesting you do 'a wide run' and lift alternate feet while you do it, while also punching your arms forward.

"This is definitely a thing where you get what you put in," said another user. "I assume you'll put it on first, swing it around and think what the hell is this? BUT you have to really engage in making it a worthwhile exercise and you'll soon know if you're using it with the right amount of effort/energy as you will sweat. Put your headphones on, watch TV for an hour and it's a great exercise from your home."

The K-mart hoop is currently on offer for £24.99 on Amazon and comes in black, blue, green, pink or purple.

A newer version, the Silent Hula Hoop, has also been released, which is quieter to use and comes with a monitor to keep track of the time, calories used and reps. It costs £49.99 and comes in black, blue, green, orange or pink.
