James Bond, Omega, Daniel Craig, 007 – they’re all almost synonomous. In the midst of a still ongoing pandemic, the new James Bond movie entitled “No Time to Die” is slated to hit theaters next month. This is the last Bond movie in which actor Daniel Craig, also an Omega watch brand ambassador, will play the role. But it is not Omega’s last stint with Bond. The brand has a long-standing sponsorship role.

That may well be why at the world premiere of the movie at the Royal Albert Hall in London, many of the celebrities were wearing Omega Seamaster watches, especially 007 himself. While some stars naturally sported other timepieces and some spectacular jewelry, it is Omega that takes the starring red carpet role.

Wearing a red velvet smoking jacket and black bowtie, Daniel Craig also sported a 41mm Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra watch in 18-karat gold with a white dial.  Also donning Omega, along with some diamonds, Naomie Harris, who plays Miss Moneypenny, wore a 34mm Omega Deville Ladymatic watch with a diamond bezel and diamond markers. It was the perfect accompaniment to the sequin gown she was wearing.

Even certain guests wore Omega, including Prince William who sported his own blue-dial Omega Seamaster Diver 300M watch that is said to be a gift to him from the late Princess Diana. This isn’t the last we will be seeing of the Omega-wristed stars, though. Next week, the film makes its North American premier in Los Angeles, which is sure to be a bang-up time.

It is interesting to note that over the decades, since James Bond made his way into Ian Fleming’s books and subsequent movies in 1953 (with the film Casino Royale), a number of different celebrates played the spy with a license to kill and wore a series of different watches. Among the stars who played the mysterious and magnificent Bond: Roger Moore and Sean Connery. Among the watches seen on the big screen on Bond’s wrist: Rolex, Hamilton, Seiko, Gruen and, of course, Omega.
