Omaze's Million Pound House Draws and how they work

If you're considering entering one of Omaze's luxury prize draws, you might be wondering if the company is legit and trustworthy. Omaze regularly organises online sweepstakes offering lucky winners expensive cars, cash prizes and even multimillion-pound homes in the UK and all you need to do to enter the draw is send a free postal entry or buy cheap online entries from £10.

Its latest Million Pound House Draw, which is currently ongoing, offers people the chance to win a spectacular £3 million house near Rock, Cornwall. The 4,200 sq ft house comes with incredible estuary views and an extra £50,000. It is also free of any mortgage or legal fees.

Part of the funds raised will be going to charity Blood Cancer UK. Omaze has guaranteed a minimum payment of £100,000.

So, how does it all work? Omaze does not hold the sweepstakes for free. The company, which is based in Los Angeles, earns a percentage of the money raised during the draws. For instance, 80% of the net proceeds from the Cornwall House Draw will go to Blood Cancer UK and 20% will go to Omaze.

To enter the draw, you can either send a postal entry for free or purchase entries online, on the Omaze website. The minimum number of entries - 15 - costs £10.

The company was founded in 2012 by Ryan Cummins and Matthew Pohlson, who believed in the idea that if more people could participate in a draw, then more money could be raised for charity. Several people in the UK have already won prizes from Omaze.

In 2021, Darren Wordon won a £2.5 million Cotswolds home and, this year, Becca Pott and her husband Ben, from East London, won a £3.5 million mansion in Ascot, after paying just £10 to enter the draw. They also received £20,000 to help them settle in.

Becca said: “My husband had entered every Omaze Million Pound House Draw prior to this one, but somehow he’d forgotten to enter on this occasion. Luckily I decided to buy a £10 ticket bundle in January without him knowing after seeing the house on television, I’m never going to let him live this down!

“The house is incredible, we’ve been wanting to move to somewhere bigger since our daughter Ava was born, now she’ll be having her first birthday in a mansion! We didn’t have space for her grandparents to come and stay in our two-bedroom flat, but now they can have the entire third floor when they visit. This win is truly life changing for us, we’ll stay here and enjoy the house for the summer at least, but whatever we decide to do, we know Ava is set for life."
