The Sultanate of Oman has officially assumed the presidency of the Asia-Pacific Group at the United Nations at a ceremony organized in New York.
Oman’s permanent representative to the UN, Ambassador Dr. Muhammad bin Awadh Al-Hassan, expressed willingness to lead the Group, which includes 55 member states.
He stressed the Sultanate’s endeavor to preserve and defend the interests of Asian and Pacific countries in the organization and international forums.
