The PSNI has released a statement following the shooting of an off-duty police officer in Omagh, Co Tyrone.
Belfast Live understands the officer was shot multiple times in the attack on Wednesday night, February 22.
A PSNI spokesperson confirmed police are currently at the scene of the shooting in the Killyclogher Road area of Omagh.

In a statement, they said: “One man, a serving police officer, has been taken to hospital for treatment after being injured in a shooting incident at a sports complex just before 8pm this evening,” they said.
“More details will be issued when available.”
