Olympic boxing hero Kellie Harrington has announced she is set to release her autobiography next autumn in collaboration with Roddy Doyle.
Harrington stole the hearts of the nation in 2021 when she took gold in the women's lightweight boxing category at the Tokyo Olympics.
It marked the final step in an inspirational journey towards glory for the boxer and the streets of Portland Row were lined upon her return home as the people of Ireland showed their appreciation.
And now she is set to tell her story with best-selling Irish author Roddy Doyle also part of the project.
The champion boxer took to her Instagram page to announce the news.
She said: "I am writing my autobiography with Roddy Doyle to be published by Penguin Books Ireland in October.
"When the opportunity came to write my autobiography the first person who sprung to mind was Roddy, and if he couldn't do it then I wasn't going to do it at all.
"I am super excited about this and I hope you will enjoy reading it as much as I have enjoyed writing it."
Prior to her Olympics success, Harrington won the gold medal in the lightweight division at the 2018 Women's World Boxing Championships.
Following on from Tokyo, she announced that she would remain in boxing's amateur ranks and bid for a follow-up success at the Paris Olympics in 2024.
