Swimming sensation Kaylee McKeown is aiming to defend one of the two Olympic backstroke titles she claimed three years ago, while the Australian men’s 4x200 freestyle relay team hope to go one better than in the two-lap race earlier in Paris.
Jessica Fox has already secured one gold medal at the 2024 Games and will now chase a second while defending her Olympic crown in the women’s canoe single, as another reigning champion, Logan Martin, sets out to back up his Tokyo title in the BMX freestyle park.
Australia’s women’s rugby sevens team are through to the semi-finals and will be sure to win a medal if they get past Canada. The Boomers also take on Canada in men’s basketball, and the Kookaburras look to make it three-from-three when they face Belgium in men’s hockey.
But the men’s triathlon has been postponed due to concerns over pollution levels in the river Seine.
