Olly Murs on his twin: 'I hope we make up - Christmas is never the same'

Olly Murs has opened up about his feud with his estranged twin, saying he is hopeful they will talk again.

The singer, 34, hasn’t spoken to Ben since he was unable to attend his wedding because of commitments on The X Factor semi-final in 2009.

Murs opened up about their fallout on Lorraine, saying he has tried to reach out as life is “too short”.

He said: “I hope [we make up]. It’s mad because every year I think it’s nine years, 10 years. I did text him this year for his birthday, I think he’s changed his number, but we’ll talk again.

“We’ll figure it out. Life is too short. Christmas is never the same.”

Murs, who is promoting his latest album, You Know I Know, recently spoke about their estranged relationship, telling the Evening Standard that he doesn’t regret missing his brother’s wedding as he wouldn’t have the career he does now.

“If I’d have left the filming, I might not be sat here now,” he said. “It was a decision I’m happy that I made. Yeah, looking back I haven’t got my twin brother around any more, which is a massive shame.

“But I didn’t in my wildest dreams expect that nine years later we wouldn’t have resolved it. I love my brother, and I always will, but I don’t know how he’s feeling.”

Murs said no one in his family knows Ben’s number or his whereabouts, saying “he could be living in Sweden, or Italy, or Manchester.”

Murs has collaborated with some of the industry's biggest names, has four number one albums to his name and last year landed himself a role as coach on The Voice.

He will return to screens alongside Sir Tom Jones, will.i.am and Jennifer Hudson in January when series eight kicks off on ITV.
