Olivia Wilde was reportedly handed custody papers by her ex-husband while on stage at CinemaCon to promote her new film Don't Worry Darling.
Jason Sudeikis, father of her children, served her while she was mid-presentation, writes The Mirror.
Jason, who is known for his role in Ted Lasso, reportedly hired a process server to hand crucial documents over to Olivia concerning their two young kids
According to reports, Olivia was left shocked when she was handed an envelope - titled "personal and confidential" - from a woman at Caesars Palace's in Las Vegas on Tuesday while shocked audience members looked on.
Olivia's ex did not know she would be served the papers in such a public and humiliating way, PageSix reported.
"This is for me? Is this a script? Ok got it. Thank you," she reportedly said on stage.
After opening the documents, it's claimed Olivia - who is dating Harry Styles - carried on without blinking and continued to present the trailer for her new film.
A source told PageSix: "Papers were drawn up to establish jurisdiction relating to the children of Ms. Wilde and Mr. Sudeikis.
"Mr. Sudeikis had no prior knowledge of the time or place that the envelope would have been delivered as this would solely be up to the process service company involved and he would never condone her being served in such an inappropriate manner."
It had initially been reported that the documents were an unsolicited script sent by a fan in the hopes of receiving Olivia's attention.
Details of their current custody arrangement remain private, and neither Olivia nor Jason have commented on the contents of the envelope.
Olivia and Jason split in November 2020.
The pair share eight-year-old son Otis and five-year-old daughter Daisy together.
At the time, the pair said that their split was amicable and that there has been no animosity between them.
Previously speaking to GQ about the reasons why they went their separate ways, Jason said: "I'll have a better understanding of why in a year.
"And an even better one in two, and an even greater one in five."
