Olivia Wilde 'doesn't feel the need' to answer question about Florence Pugh 'feud'

Olivia Wilde perfectly dodged a question regarding her apparent feud with Florence Pugh at a press conference for Don't Worry Darling.

Director Olivia, 38, remained straight faced as she was asked about her situation with star of the movie Florence, 26. Fellow co-stars, including Olivia's boyfriend Harry Styles all remained tight lipped during the question.

Olivia responded: "She’s amazing in the film and as for all the endless gossip and all the noise out there, I mean, the internet feeds itself. I don’t feel the need to contribute. I think it’s sufficiently well nourished."

The rumour mill was in full swing after Florence skipped a scheduled group interview for the movie at the Venice Film Festival. While she appeared to have a good excuse that it conflicted with another scheduled work event, photographs showing the star arrive moments after the interview fuelled the fire.

It's said the pair fell out after a bust up over actor Shia LaBeouf, 36, who recently denied he was fired from the film and instead insisted he had quit.

The actor is said to have leaked texts by Olivia which seemed to show how being negative towards the actress. Olivia was asked about the falling out, but simply replied: "Florence is a force and we are so grateful that she is able to make it tonight."

When a reporter then tried to question Shia's actions, the interview's chairperson is said to have shut down the comment request.

During her appearance on the red carpet the night before - with her grandmother as her date - Florence appeared to avoid both Olivia and Harry.

And on Monday at the Venice Film Festival rumoured fall outs between cast members seemed to take another turn as some fans were adamant Harry spat on Chris Pine as he went to sit down.

A number of fans headed to Twitter to share their disbelief at what they thought they saw. However, not everyone believed that was the case and quickly jumped to the defence of the former One Direction man.

The highly anticipated psychological thriller sees Harry play main character Jack Chambers alongside Academy Award-nominated actress Florence. It is set for release on September 23
