Olivia Wilde wore the same dress as someone else at the Met Gala 2023.
The actress and Don't Worry Darling director wore the white violin dress from Chloe's current designer Gabriela Hearst, but ended up having an awkward run-in with Vogue China editor Margaret Zhang, who was wearing the same dress in black. The theme for this year's Gala was Karl Lagerfeld, and this dress was inspired by one of his designs from 1983.
The dresses were styled differently, as Zhang paired her with a black cape that added a train to her look, and a pair of black sunglasses, while Wilde wore hers with detached gold cuffs and dangly earrings. Their fashion mix-up took the internet by storm as people were asking 'who wore it best?'.

Similarities between outfits was far more likely this year, as the theme was so specific. This is only the second time Vogue editor Anna Wintour has chosen an individual as a theme for the Met Gala.
The issue had the internet in a frenzy as fans speculated about what could have happened. One person said: "I thought all the outfits were approved beforehand? Someone's in trouble" and another said: "They're so brave for not going home immediately."
