Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis have issued a joint statement after their former nanny gave a bombshell interview about their split.
In a statement, the former couple have claimed that their former employee, who was not named in the interview, had been on an “18-month-long campaign” of harassment.
They wrote, in a statement to the Evening Standard: “As parents, it is incredibly upsetting to learn that a former nanny of our two young children would choose to make such false and scurrilous accusations about us publicly.
“Her now 18-month-long campaign of harassing us, as well as loved ones, close friends and colleagues, has reached its unfortunate apex.
“We will continue to focus on raising and protecting our children with the sincere hope that she will now choose to leave our family alone.”
The childcare worker claimed in an interview with the Daily Mail that Wilde broke up with Sudeikis after she began directing Harry Styles on the set of Don’t Worry Darling, something she has vehemently denied.
Wilde previously said the relationship ended long before her romance with Styles began and claimed any other narrative was “completely inaccurate”.
She told Vanity Fair last month: “The complete horses*** idea that I left Jason for Harry is completely inaccurate.
“Our relationship was over long before I met Harry. Like any relationship that ends, it doesn’t end overnight.
“Unfortunately, Jason and I had a very bumpy road, and we officially dissolved the relationship towards the beginning of the pandemic.”
Wilde and Sudeikis began dating in 2011 before getting engaged in 2013. Their split was first reported in November 2020.
The former couple have two children: daughter Daisy, 5, and son Otis, 8.
The couple’s separation has been, at times, contentious after Wilde was handed child custody papers on behalf of her ex-fiance while appearing on stage to promote her new film.
Wilde was appearing at CinemaCon in Las Vegas to promote her thriller Don’t Worry Darling when she was given a brown envelope.
An unknown person slid the envelope marked “private and confidential” across the front of the stage to Wilde, which it later emerged contained custody documents relating to the two children the 38-year-old has with the Ted Lasso star.
However, a source told CNN at the time that Sudeikis “had no prior knowledge of the time or place that the envelope would have been delivered” and called it “inappropriate.”
