Olivia Rodrigo was left gooped during her sold-out concert in Sydney when a cheeky request she made of two fans hilariously backfired.
While performing on Thursday night, the pop sensation decided to spice things up by asking two audience members to kiss for the cameras.
“You guys are so cute! I have a huge and fun favour to ask, would you guys give us a kiss on the GUTS cam?” Olivia asked, clearly excited.
Little did she know, the pair were actually brother and sister. I wasn’t even there and I’m cringing.
“Oh shit, oh shit! Never mind, scrap that! Fuck, wow, that hasn’t happened before,” an embarrassed Olivia exclaimed, holding her hands up in shock.
She quickly asked her crew to cut the footage, adding: “This is the first time! I’m actually surprised that that hasn’t happened. Wow, I feel really bad now, we are going to forget that ever happened!”
There have been conflicting reports about whether or not the siblings “cheekily obliged her request regardless” but according to our Deputy Editor Matt Galea who was at the concert, this simply did not happen (thankfully).
This mishap came on the heels of another memorable moment during her Melbourne shows when she took an unexpected tumble through an open floor hatch at Rod Laver Arena.
Fans gasped as she disappeared for a moment but quickly reassured everyone with her trademark charm.
“Oh my God, that was fun! I’m OK,” she said with a laugh.
“Wow, sometimes there’s just a hole in the stage.” Totally girl!
Despite this little hiccup, Olivia has been living her best life during the Australian leg of the GUTS tour. She’s been professing her love for Tim Tams and Caramello Koalas (as she should) and even meeting our very own diva Pesto the penguin.
The “Vampire” singer sported a crop top with the words, “Vegemite be in love” during one of her Melbourne shows.
During an appearance on The Project, Olivia revealed she’s been embracing local culture by indulging in her love of “op shopping” while in Melbourne. The way I would die if I ran into Olivia at Savers.
Thursday’s show at Qudos Bank Arena was Olivia’s first Sydney concert and she’ll again take the stage on October 18, 21, and 22. These gigs mark the final stops on the Australian leg of her sold-out GUTS tour.
Anywho, I’m gonna go scroll through the rest of the concert vids and cry about the fact that I don’t have tickets.
