Olivia Rodrigo 'does a Taylor Swift' after accident with Grammy Award

Olivia Rodrigo accidently broke her Grammy Award just minutes after receiving it.

The good 4 u singer secured no less than three gongs at the ceremony in Las Vegas on Sunday night, including Best New Artist, Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Solo Pop Performance.

She also performed her hit track, thrilling those in the audience at the arena and those at home with a tear-jerking rendition of her hit song drivers license. Olivia was overwhelmed as she picked up the three big prizes tonight.

However, she was left red-faced in the winners' room as she made a blunder and dropped one of her awards, instantly breaking it - similar to what Taylor Swift did back in 2010 when she broke one of her Grammys too, our sister Mirror site reports.

During her first acceptance speech, Olivia described the win as her "biggest dream come true".

"Thank you so much to the Recording Academy," she explained, as she paid tribute to her parents, her friends and her producer Daniel Nigro, adding: "This is my biggest dream come true.

"Dan, you are the best friend, collaborator, person that I could ever ask for. This is all because of you, so thank you."

In her second speech, she spoke of her parents' unwavering support throughout her childhood, as she recalled how she had originally wanted to be a gymnast before turning her attention to her music.

"When I was nine years old, I told my mom I was going to be an Olympic gymnast even though I could barely do a cartwheel and she thought I was joking but I got super defensive, and so the next week, when I told her I was going to win a Grammy, she was very supportive even though I’m sure she thought it was just a little-kid pipe dream," she explained.

"I want to thank my mom for being supportive of all of my dreams, no matter how crazy. I want to thank my mom and my dad for being as equally as proud of me for winning a Grammy as they were when I learned how to do a back walkover."

As she stepped into the winners' room to pose with her trophies, she was given all three of them to take a snap with. However, she ended up dropping one of them and the gramophone broke off the top.
