Olivia Pratt-Korbel's family release funeral details as mourners asked to wear pink

The details of Olivia Pratt-Korbel's funeral have been released by her family with mourners being asked to wear pink.

The nine-year-old was tragically killed after being shot in her home in Dovecot in Liverpool on Monday, August 22. The gunman burst his way into the house on Kingsheath Avenue in pursuit of 35-year-old Joseph Nee, who had forced his way inside.

The killer shot at Nee, Olivia's mum Cheryl and the youngster before running away down Finch Lane. Olivia tragically died as a result of her injuries.

Now, the family of Olivia have issued the details of her funeral through Debbie Bennett's Independent Funeral Directors, the Liverpool Echo reports. A funeral mass will take place on Thursday, September 15 in Dovecot.

In a notice, the funeral directors wrote: "It is with great sadness that the family of little Olivia have asked us to announce her funeral arrangements. Much loved daughter of Cheryl, and step-daughter of Jimmy. Dearly loved sister of Ryan and Chloe.

"A loving granddaughter and great-granddaughter and a very special niece and cousin. Olivia will be sadly missed by all her family and friend.

"Funeral Mass in Dovecot on Thursday, September 15 at 11am, followed by a private burial. Family requested everyone to wear a splash of pink."

At a press conference held yesterday, Merseyside Police said they believe that two guns were used in the shooting. They also released footage of the gunman running from the scene and appealed once again for anyone with information to come forward.

Showing the footage Detective Chief Superintendent Mark Kameen said: "I’m doing this because people may recognise what he is wearing, it may also help people remember seeing him in the area on the night that Olivia was murdered and thereby help us trace where he is and where he went.

"This shows the gunman running along Finch Lane away from Kingsheath Avenue, which is, of course, where Olivia lived. We then see him turn right into Berryford Road and go out of sight.

"We know this man is climbing through gardens and through people’s backyards in order to avoid being identified as well as using the roads."

He added: "We know there will be people shielding him and helping this man avoid being found by the police. If you are found doing this then we will do everything legitimately possible to bring you to justice.

"It is beyond comprehension how anyone could protect or harbour a man who is responsible for killing a nine-year-old child. This man is toxic. He is toxic to our communities and if you are protecting him he is toxic to you and your family."

He continued: "I can now confirm that there were two guns used in this attack. I believe at this time that the gunman brought both of these weapons to the scene.

"He had them with him at the time of the attack. I also believe the gunman took both of those guns away with him when he callously left the scene as we’ve just seen on the CCTV.

"I clearly want to know where those guns are." Police are also releasing footage of a man who was in the area at the time of the shooting who they want to trace.

He added: "I’m interested in speaking to him as he may have information that is important to the inquiry by virtue of the fact he was in the area at the right time.”

Det Chief Sup Kameen said Olivia’s mother, Cheryl, was still being treated for her injury and was 'incredibly thankful' for the care and compassion she's received from the community.
